Unique walking trails through the Dolomites

We hike alongside our guests! Once a week, Hermann accompanies the guests to the mountains. Use this personal service to enjoy a unique experience.

A special route includes part of the South Tyrolean section of the Way of St James.

The mighty peaks surrounding San Candido and the many side valleys in the Dolomites are perfect for mountain hikes and walks. Choose between comfortable valley walks, fascinating high-altitude trails and tours around the peak of the Sesto Dolomites. Make sure to stop off for a break and view the wonderful mountain scenery, stopping for a bite to eat in one of the alpine huts.

Walking in the Hochpuster Valley

Get yourself an Hochpuster Valley walking pass for €4.50 at the hotel reception - there are more than 70 suggested tours contained in it! Spend some time in the fascinating mountain landscape of San Candido, and take an extended tour of the mountains and huts to discover the South Tyrolean Dolomites for yourself. If you are planning a journey of several days, you can stay in one of the alpine huts or in a mountain guest house.

Walking around San Candido

There is a large selection of less strenuous hikes and walks available, departing directly from San Candido. Here are two examples:

Walk No. 28A: Source of the River Drau (1,200 m above sea level)

Duration: 40 minutes
Past the Erschbaum sports centre and from the football pitch the trail leads along the edge of the forest to the source of the River Drau.

Walk No. 7: Wildbad Innichen (1333 m above sea level)

Duration: 50 minutes
The entrance to the hiking trail to Wildbad Innichen is reached via the Haunold trail at the southern edge of Innichen. The trail starts off flat in the direction of the left valley side towards Sesto, then crosses the Sexten stream and the main road and ascends to Wildbad Innichen.
