San Candido and the Hochpuster Valley has more than 200 km of well-prepared cross-country ski tracks and is a member of Dolomiti NordikSki (1,300 km of tracks in the Dolomites, snow guaranteed from December 23rd and one single track fee), the largest cross-country skiing association.
The topology of the Hochpuster Valley was made for cross-country skiing. You can join the track directly in San Candido and immediately find yourself immersed in a winter wonderland. The tracks lead for example to the Pragser Lake or alongside high-altitude alpine meadows. The tracks have been constructed for expert competitors and, along with the cross-country skiing stadium in Dobbiaco, show how seriously this winter sport is taken in the Hochpuster Valley.
